Sam Bankman-Fried’s Defense Team Requires More Time for Criminal Trial
Sam Bankman-Fried's defense team is requesting extended time to prepare a defense after receiving evidence from federal prosecutors.
Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), the founder of Alameda Research, the CEO of FTX and a prominent figure in the DeFi and crypto spheres, is facing a criminal trial next October. This news has stirred a lot of speculation throughout the industry.
Now, SBF’s lawyers have signalled the need for more time to prepare a defense after having received evidence from federal prosecutors. In a statement made on the 23rd of March, the lawyers said that they need additional time for “an appropriate review and handling of the evidence”.
The lawyers declined to comment on the nature of the evidence in question, or on whether the case could be put to rest without going through a criminal trial.
Sam Bankman-Fried has shown resilience in the face of this situation, bringing more attention to the FTX platform, which has seen a surge in popularity over the past year.
This request for a delay in the SBF criminal trial may raise further speculation around the case. To read more about the news, follow the link.
